 I made my very first birthday cake from scratch for my little brother! It turned out pretty tasty!

First time, Korean beef

So I’ve never made Korean beef before! I wanted to try something new for dinner so I took to my trusted Pinterest account and came across a recipe for Korean Beef. I sounded and looked delicious! I had most of the ingredients apart from a few things needed for the sauce so I pretty much winged it for that part. It turned out pretty delicious although the sauce was a little strong so I’m not going to put the recipe up just yet as I want to play around with it a little more. It was definitely a good call and went down great with my boyfriend. All around success!    

My love for cooking.

I get this huge sense of accomplishment when I cook a great meal for someone. I find it hard to be confident in anything I do and yet seeing someone’s face light up when they take a bite of something I have cooked makes me so happy. It has always been a dream of mine to open up a small cafe and serve cute meals and cakes, fancy teas and coffees and have the whole place decorated in contemporary pieces of art. Who knows maybe sometime in the future I may end up there, but for now I will just have to get all my enjoyment out of cooking for my famliy and friends. p.s. this was a damn good cooked dinner if I do say so myself. xo 

Breakfast is served 

  For a slightly different breakfast option. I put my own spin on a recipe I found on buzzfeed for making Shakshuka a few weeks back, after finding that the recipe was quite simple, I decided to play around with the basics of the recipe and add my own touch.

Ingredients:

Tomato Passata

Chopped Cherry tomatoes (or normal tomatoes will be fine.)

Chopped pepper, I used a yellow pepper.

onions

garlic powder

basil

cumin

pepper

salt

cheese, feta works better but all I had was cheddar at the time.

and of course, Toast

Its basically a case of adding a little oil to a pan, frying up the onions and adding everything one at a time, you can add as much or as little as you like depending on how many people you are making this for, you can’t really go wrong as its a simple recipe of just lightly frying everything and then covering it over just to let it simmer a little more. I usually have butter on my toast but I found that eating this with dry toast works a lot nicer as the sauce itself is enough to soften up the bread.

Who likes porridge?

I have never been a fan of breakfast. The thought of soggy cereal and burnt toast is enough to turn anyone away! As I work for a bakery one of the breakfast items we offer is a wonderful smelling golden syrup porridge which although I hate porridge just smelt so delicious i decided to try it. It’s safe to say I fell in love. From my new found courage to try different porridge I came across honey and vanilla Quaker oats which when topped with blueberries is absolutely incredible. I would definitely recommend for anyone who wants a quick yet filling breakfast that tastes a little sweeter than most. I’m in love.
