Embroidery.

12742759_969069766463361_9208991299552763299_nSo, I spent today experimenting with embroidery over the top of my self portraits. The portraits are printed on 6×4 Photo paper which gives them a rather glossy, stiff finish. Piercing the photo paper with the needle and thread was a sort of therapy in itself as it created a sense of fragility within to a finished and structured piece. I want to experiment with colours and textures more. I also think it would look a lot more effective if the thread wasn’t as neat, almost ragged looking and more expressive. Which overall is the effect I am trying to create for my finished piece.

Valentines day post.

Valentines day is just an excuse to get all soppy, eat lots of chocolate and have sex  a nice romantic meal. Chester and I aren’t really the type to celebrate valentines day, in fact, previous years have resulted in him buying me malteasers and then eating them himself.

This year, although we had planned we weren’t even going to celebrate valentines day Chester decided to buy me something which meant I had to run out and find some last minute gifts for him too. Also, Chester is a child when it comes to surprises so he gave me my gifts the night before. However, I loved them obviously, in true Chester style, they were randomly perfect. First of all the card…he hadn’t realised until he had sealed the envelope(I dont understand how this works…) it was in fact an easter card. But it was perfect non the less. The gifts were lovely, a bag from primark I had my eyes on for a while, rather expensive considering it was from primark, and some adorable lotus candle holders from tiger, like I said we aren’t really into the soppy crap so flowers are a no. I got him some malteasers to mix things up a little and a bottle of Jack Daniels.

Today, being valentines day(the actual day) we decided to take a nice little drive as it was a beautiful day and then head home to play GTA 5 for a few hours, then followed by Gourmet Burger Kitchen Burgers (vegetarian for me) and a snuggle with The Martian on dvd.

I hope everyone else is enjoying their valentines day, even if you are alone. Have a nice relaxing sunday everyone.

Bleach London: beach lights and rose shampoo review.

Hey guys! So yesterday I decided I wanted to something different with my hair! Therefore I picked up some bleach London products from boots. I decided I wanted to bleach my hair a lot more and then  add a sort of washed out pink to it, and oh my glob. The bleach kit was one of the easiest kits I have used! It came with a wide comb that made it super easy to brush through the hair and it took straight away! I am so happy with how blonde it is after leaving it on for 35 minutes. After I had washed the bleach out I gave it a rinse with the rose shampoo and although I didn’t leave it on long enough it still added some pink tones to my hair. Next time I wash it I’m going to leave it on a little longer so as to add a bit more vibrancy to the colour. But overall I am super happy with the results!! And feeling great about my hair. Thanks Bleach London! Xo

Stay positive.

my goal for this year is to look after myself, look after my body, my mind and my soul. I want to become more positive and more outgoing and just take every chance I get to do something new. I am also going to try and incorporate more vegetarian meals into my diet and look after my body and my health. I just want to be the best person I can be. Not just for this year but for my future. I would really love the opportunity to create some commissioned artwork just to get my name out there, even small pieces, I want to create more craftwork whether it’s knitting or embroidery I am open to everything right now. If anyone has any projects for me to work on send me an email and we can work something out together. Jayde.trollope@gmail.com
Let’s make this year the best. Together. Xo

Maybelline favourites.

I have only just realised that my three favourite make up products all seem to be maybelline items! I couldn’t live without these three things and I’m so sad that my master sculpt contour kit is running low. I would definitely recommend these products and here’s why:….
1. Maybelline Master Sculpt contour kit in fair, this is such a wonderful contour kit that comes with a powdered shaper and highlighter along with a small brush and a cute little mirror. I love how well it blends and the slight glitter sheen that comes with the highlighter giving you a cute little glow. My favourite by far!

2. Maybelline ink master matte eyeliner. A great little eyeliner I’ve recently started using that is long lasting and has a great precision brush for getting the deadliest points.

3. Maybelline lash sensational mascara. This is one of the nicest mascaras I have used. It has a slightly curved brush which makes your eyelashes look as naturally long as possible also it doesn’t seem to clump!! A great buy.

I really would recommend all three of these products as I use them every day and I would swear by them. Xo

Shop dixi.

Today I got my first ever Dixi package and even though it was only a few small things I treated myself to from their sales, I absolutely love them! I also never buy gold jewellery so this was a bit of a risk for me, they are perfect.

I got a brand new gold nose ring and some fake septum piercings to try, at first I was a little worries as my nose is pierced quite far back so I usually need quite a large nose ring, so I emailed them and they were so helpful but after playing around with it a little I managed to stretch it enough to fit into my nose, which is a huge deal as I usually have to buy a few before I find one that fits! I messaged them to let them know I had sorted it and they were so lovely!

The prices for their jewellery are so great and if I do say so way too cheap for such beautiful items! I am definitely going to be spending my christmas money on some more of their pieces, not to mention birthday money!

An all around success and I definitely want to order more from them! Delivery was free and super fast also. Plus how cute is their packaging!!! I need more asap!!!  here is there site for any of you that want to check it out…. Shop Dixi.  I know you wont be disappointed.

Catastrophe cosmetic face mask.

My skincare routine is pretty simple…I don’t have one! I very rarely wash my face and I hardly ever use moisturisers or toners. The only thing I do on a daily basis is use  face wipes to remove my make up. I have always been told I have great skin and I very rarely have break outs. However as I now work in a bakery there are times that my skin can get a bit oily and working with the ovens on a regular basis can cause my skin to break out a little so when that happens I love using lush products as they are so kind to my skin and don’t clog up my pores. My favourite product being the catastrophe cosmetic face mask, the blueberry filled face mask really refreshes my skin and hides any redness from spots. I really recommend it for people looking for a refreshing face mask that leaves your skin soft and clear. It really works wonders especially alongside the herbalism cleanser which also uses its green tone to get rid of red blemishes. They really are amazing products.

First time, Korean beef

So I’ve never made Korean beef before! I wanted to try something new for dinner so I took to my trusted Pinterest account and came across a recipe for Korean Beef. I sounded and looked delicious! I had most of the ingredients apart from a few things needed for the sauce so I pretty much winged it for that part. It turned out pretty delicious although the sauce was a little strong so I’m not going to put the recipe up just yet as I want to play around with it a little more. It was definitely a good call and went down great with my boyfriend. All around success!
